First post is a rant...

So I have a 2005 gp base and I bought it used with 30k on it when I was 17 with my own money(8500 good deal I thought!) I am now 18 and really "matured" car wise in a year or so. I take soooooooooo much pride in my car. I think its the nicest car ever lol. I take about 8-10 hours to detail it... So I go outside my work at a video store one day cause I saw people in vests walking around.(Also bored) And I look over to were I am parked and there is my beautiful car newly detailed with a bunch of surveying equiptment all on my hood!!!!!! I FLIPPED OUT! I noticed it was a women just in time before killing her and than just sat there screaming in her face. I wanted to call the cops but I made the mistake of going back inside and sitting there pretty much freaking out lol... I went back out and they were gone. I wish I could have destroyed her vehicle or something I am still soooooo angry and it was a few days ago.... rant over

Seriously chill. Sure it sucks that people don't respect others' property, but saying you want to kill someone over setting something on your car is part of what's wrong with people today.

And be glad you didn't call the cops because unless they maliciously damaged your car they probably would've laughed at you.

I have come out to my car and seen people laying up against my car before. I walked right up on them and told them to get off before they get thrown off. punking them out will make you feel a little better anyways...lol

Thats it? Lemme guess... you couldn't find a scratch on it? I'll bet your paint looks like most used cars, swirl scratches everywhere. :th_thumbsup-wink:

Just about the only time Ive ever not got pissed off at someone leaning on my car was when i have my 96 Tran Am And i came off the beach and there was a cute girl leaning on it her car was next to mine and she was taking off her wet suit
Usually id freak but as said she was cute i told her she owed me dinner and we ended up going out for a summer lol

Any other time i take it as a attak on me when someone leans on or messes with my ride

The only time I'm really concerned with someone touching my car (even brand new) is when they're wearing jeans or if the car is already dirty. If they're in jeans the metal rivets can scratch the paint. If the car is already dirty, them leaning can cause swirl marks. But, the swirls aren't bad and can be gotten out with the right products and some elbow grease.

It's never made me want to kill anyone though.

I just be polite and ask them to not be against my car, which usually works and they realize they made a mistake and someone asked them nicely not to do it. If they give me lip I tell them they can either move or be thrown off when the car moves.

Flying off the handle at people is not the way to solve problems. You're 18, but you'll realize this as you get older.

Ok kill may be a tad extreme
but when you have spent 4-8 hours detailing and caring for your car and you find someone being disrespectful and leaning on it or setting things on it it is kinda BS I mean maybe it didnt scratch but if it did then your talking hard earned money and more time out of your pocket to fix it

I'm not saying to take it lying down, but an overly emotional or even violent outburst is not going to solve anything. I've loved every car I have ever had, but at the end of the day it's just a car.

I take amazing care of my car, I keep it clean and shiny all the time. It pisses me off when people lean against my car guy or girl, it doesn't matter, i kindly adress to them "This isn't a ****ing park bench, get the **** off!"...unless shes cute as hell then i would do as wickedintent did except id make her pay. Just 2 weeks ago my neighbors dog (full grown crazy pit bull) jumped into my car and scratched my seat, i got pissed off, kicked a wall, bruised my toe, couldn't walk for 3 days...and now i need a new seat and I have better luck at winning lottery than getting a dime from my neighbor... Comp G seats here I come.

As far as your situation...it's your fault, you should have parked further away. At my night job i park in the very back corner about 2 foot ball fields away so i don't get hit by a stupid shopping cart or people putting their **** on my car.

I don't know what you detail and how you do it, but really? I understand that everyone has 'their baby' but getting upset about someone leaning on your car? Setting something on your car? Making someone pay for a clearcoat scratch?

As an outsiders perspective on this whole 'I wanna screw my Grand Prix GTP in both tailpipes' thing... Someone setting something or leaning on your car is leaning on, believe it or not, a GRAND PRIX! :th_eyepopping:

I do like my Grand Prix and all, but there are bigger things in life than worrying/freaking out about. Do you get mad when a semi tire throws a rock at your hood? What do you do then? rant response over

This!

We're not talking about The Judge or a '72 Chevelle or a 69 Camaro, or a 74 Pantera, or a Model A...

This country as a whole doesnt know what respect is any more thats the main problem There are exceptions but as a whole we are failing

Things are going to happen you can't prevent...I mean, unless you drive your car around in a hamster wheel.

Get your tampon twisted back right and when you get older, like others have said...you'll realize it one day when you just say...meh...I'll clean it tomorrow...two weeks from tomorrow goes by and the rain will clean it for you....for free I might add.

And you'll be left with a nice spoty and still dirty car. :th_thumbsup-wink:

well when you've dumped 3 or $4,000 into your GRAND PRIX! Im sure it would bother you too.

I stay far, far away from trucks, to avoid that situation.

Sometimes there's nothing you can do. The nearest vehicle in front of me was at least 200 yards when I got my first rock chip in the STI over labor day weekend. Suppose a rock comes off a truck and hits a car in the windshield. That rock has just ricocheted off their windshield high up into the air and possibly still in the opposite direction of travel as you. It could have some decent hang time before you catch it on the way back down. No way you can avoid this, and you might not even ever know where it came from.

Luckily for me it hit the windshield which Progressive has kindly filled in for me so I can't even tell it was ever there.

I've dumped $3,000-4,000 into my FORD and it doesn't bother me because **** happens. Do I get enraged over it? No. Does it bother me? Kinda. Do I need paint? Yes. But when you have 211,000 miles on a vehicle its just something that, when you get older, you come to expect.

What have you put into your GP? If I were going to spend that kind of money on 'performance upgrades', I'd make sure your stock components can handle it. But I'm sure you researched your aftermarket additions thoroughly so I won't speak my mind on this one (as usual) lol. Not sayin, jus sayin! :th_winking:

I would be mad as hell too! She had no business in doing that, WTF was she thinking! Idiot! You have to respoect others property. I do not care if it was a POS car, you just do not do that! :th_skull:

What a total moron, does your hood look like a table! F-ing idiot!

The points are, you do not do things like that, and YOU as the owner like nice things, want nice things and take care of your stuff becuase you like it. When some idiot comes along and puts things all over the hood, it makes you mad! It is not a matter of crap happens but a matter of disrespect...

I bet she did not even say sorry! I would put her on my pipe list!

First off I asked a police officer today and they said it was defacing property. Second off I was wrong in this because I get mad? You are probobaly just as disrespectful as the person who did it. They didn't just lean on my car they had surveying equipment laying on my ****ing hood buddy. If it was a dude I wouldve ****ing blasted him in his mouth.
