First Long Trip. Need some help fixing some annoying problems!!

So me that Prix are going to Memphis, TN from SE Iowa on Friday. It's our first long haul. Since I'm going to be in her for about 8 and some hours I want things to be smooth and enjoyable. I have a free day on Thursday to spend cleaning and fixing things. I only want to spend about 50 bucks though if I do indeed need to buy anything. Here's some things that bug me and I can hopefully clean/fix...

1. The ride is bumpy, not sure if I can clean shocks or anything of the sort. Basically just want a smoother ride all together.

2. Got some annoying plastic ticks...like its flexing or something. Anything notorious in 04+ that rattles and fixable?

3. My brakes squeak. I have new pads. Tire rod ends are all fine. Although I notice brakes are weak in the pedal but fluid is full...? This bugs me a lot.

4. I cleaned the throttle body which was HORRIBLE, and now runs much cleaner feeling. Anything else I can get in and clean that will be beneficial to gas mileage, ride, etc.

1.The bumpy ride sory to say is more than likley because of the 18's that are on you're car. Or is this something that has gotten worse.


2. I don't have anything on this one.


3. Did you put a brake hardware kit on when you did the pads? That is more than likley you're issue. The metal clips is what causes that most of the time. Like 20 bucks for both front tires.


4. I would clean the air filter and MAF again.

change your oil, air filter, check trans fluid, clean your ride inside and out, check and correct tire pressure, dont forget to fill your washer fluid. and many 04+ have squeks and rattles in/on the dash upper/lower. and from what I have payed attention to they all seem to be confined to the drivers area, and if you find your cricket some foam tape should shut it up.
