Fired up new engine threw some codes.

As it states, new engine fired up and seems to be ok. To refresh, im running an old tune with a new cam. When we first fired it up, the engine light came on and threw the code p0300. After checking, we found the brake booster hose had come off somehow and we put it back on. i erased code and have driven it 50 miles or so without the light coming back on. Could this have come on because the computer doesnt recognize the new cam, ported heads? Or because that booster line came off? Either way, it starts and runs fine. It idles up and down a little when in park, or when im stopped, but im guessing that this is because of the old tune/new cam deal. I left the 3.8 pulley on it until i get it broke in. I know what the p0300 code is, just wondering if the aforementioned issues could trigger such a code. It also threw an oxygen sensor code too, and I know this can cause idle rev issues. Thanks,
Kevin

Once I get 500 miles on it or so.....Im taking it to intense and letting them program it and put a small pulley on it.

Also Bill, whilst I have you on the horn.....the black plastic tube that covers the shift cable......um I broke it during the install. I have to manualy get out and tinker with the black tube as it it causes the cable to crimp and not want to go into park. Is there a quick fix for this? Tried jb, wouldnt work. If i have to get a new one, how hard is the removal/install of the whole cable?

Hit a JY and pick up a different one. There's no fix for what you've done. Keep your old cable, cut th ends off it. It's a great wire snake for any kind of install.

The overall removal will show you the install.

How I'd do it.
Get your new cable.
Cut the end off your old cable at the trans.
Pull your center console
Disconnect the cable from the shifter and the holder on the shifter, rehook end of cable to shifter (the ball part to hold it there while you pull the sheath in the next step)
Now disconnect cable again and pull the cable in so that you can hook your new cable to the end of it to pull it under the carpet. If you don't do it this way..likely you'll be lifting the carpet. Yes..I've done one w/o the cable and not lifting the carpet..but it was a pain.
Connect new cable at shifter and reinstall console
Install cable at trans end.

Pull the sheath only out of the car (from inside to engine bay)

No..that part is cake.

It's sneaking it under the carpet, because under the carpet is a black air diverter that you also go under.
Without carpet.

You can see the cable goes inside that plastic diverter

THATS EXPENSIVE! Even the cheap stuff is expensive. On another note, I hope that intense can get me on a 3.0 pulley. Chris and John seem to think with my mods, I should be around a 3.0 or a 3.1. Even with the cam, its a turd right now because of the OEM pulley on it, but I need to break it in. I want to climb into it so bad, but I will wait.

my car moves pretty quickly even with the supercharger belt off(when i was diagnosing a noise) i have the NIC cam
