• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Wow. **** it I made up my mind. I will quit my job and sell useless **** on eBay like hairdryer intakes and massive HP chips.

Finally... found this thread. I was thinking of posting one that follows the 23 year trail of GP tears. SO many incidents / stories there. But yeah this is probably more fun and relevant. As you saw, my trusty GTP may not be too tweaked from Monday's crash. "Super Betty" might live onward yet...

SEDANS ARE OUT, PERIOD. The fart can cars... well yep I think everyone should carry one in the trunk.

Thanks for hunting up some options though, Bill. Looks like 70 or 75 series tires on the Buford, interesting to see that they clear the struts. I bet that thing is slow as molasses in January and soft as butter in July! Honestly when I started the FWD GP madness, I admit being interested in Rivieras. But they have even more troublesome garbage hung on them.

What do you guys say to a 3800 trike? All I need is half a big heavy bike and some pipe. Wonder if I could street-legal that, it would be fun for summer and offroading. Prolly ought to use the L36 for that idea. If somebody gave me a Corvair coupe, that could get interesting also. Unfortunately, except for doing emergency DD fixes at the shop theres no place I can play except for my tiny one car garage. I reckon the GTP will go back into service rather than me finding another one this time. The smart thing to do is a cheap wreck fix then keep my eyes open for local steals on GPs that need stuff I have and start flippin.

Nothing is gonna get flipped by me for awhile, this swollen wrist is more like swollen half of forearm today. The sting from catching the airbag as I went for the horn reminds me of those days when there was more kids than gloves so you catch a baseball bare-handed... but not quite right into the hand.

I was searching under $1500 to keep it cheap. It's a GP afterall.

So no 4 doors, even something like a Regal? Which BTW should be on 225/60/16's.

Nope, no more-doors for this man. Just more disposable junk Pontiacs. I did make a comment about maybe a Century front clip swap, onto a GP. Trouble is, all 3800 cars are worth about as much a cheeseburger so wrenching on them doesn't make much sense.

Actually it does make sense.

Bought this 00 Regal for $1400, needed struts/brakes, dropped more than that into it and here I am 4 years later w/o any payments and a total of $5k invested over those 4 years. That's a lot of features/comfort for the cost.

Aw man. Enterprise put me in a Maxima. I waited a couple days just to get that, having requested a fullsize car which last time was an Impala LTZ. The kid at the counter explained that the '15 Impala has been bumped to a class beyond fullsize. So I'm a Nissan guy for the time being. Luckily, thats the least malignant of the asian brands, IMHO. Some beach... I want my heated leather, HUD, keyhole, and whiny zip back! I'm ripe to complain on a myriad of issues but I'll limit it to saying drive by wire is for ... well I don't know who. Not me!

Finally got the good word... other party 100% at fault. Woot! At the moment I sit in the wounded GTP, pondering my next moves.

Anybody had a similar injury claim to mine (wrist contusion)? I could use a ballpark figure because someone will ask how much, to compensate for the hurty part.

Mine wasn't wrist, but I have been injured twice. Wait at least 6 months. Make sure you are totally better. Go to your freaking doctor. With no doctor visits, you get virtually nothing. Go to a legit doctor and keep documentation. Once you have done what your doctor says, come back here. Don't sign anything for the insurance company, don't go to their doctors.

I went to an urgent care clinic tbe next day, theres 5 xrays but no broken bones. I have pics of the initial swelling and bruising later. Theres not likely to be any going to court for me, my ins co will fight his. Healing should go well in my case but I won't commit to being 100% for quite some time of course. My question is are we talking ten, twenty grand? Five? What? It is a career threatening injury if not fully healed.

Basically, with no broken bones they call it a soft tissue injury. If you can prove you lost time at work and was not paid, they will reimburse you. The pain and suffering portion is your medical bills multiplied by some factor of 1-5. So, if your urgent care bill was $200. You can expect $200-$1,000. You can follow up with your doctor and see if physical therapy will help you recover faster/better.
