Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Finally fixing up the gp...need some help

Hopefully gonna start finally working on this thing tomorrow, but I've got a few questions before I do a few of the many repairs it needs.

1. The blower motor is under the panel where the wipers bolt to, right? (No air comes on when I turn on the a/c).

2. This will be my second set of hydraulic lower engine and trans mounts in a year, zzp solids the way to go?

3. Turns out my sunroof is aftermarket, it's also alot smaller than a normal stock gp one and a pain in the ass to find parts for, should I just cut into the roof and swap a stock gp sunroof in there? I know a body guy so labor won't be TOO bad.

4. Trans fluid...never been changed. My car has 126k on it now, I've heard changing the fluid after that long can shock the trans. Is this true or should I change it? If I shouldn't change the fluid should I at least change the filter?

5. Last time I got an oil change they told me my pan was leaking, can't be anything major because the car never leaks oil onto the ground...so is this something that should get attention asap or can it wait?

6. All 3 codes that are set to no report are showing up "not ready" on the emissions test. I thought once they were set to no report you can pass?

Thanks guys, any help is always appreciated.

No...blower motor is under the passenger side of the dash. Have fun with that shiz...remove the passenger seat if your bigger than a 5th grader.

If you don't care about rattling and feeling everything in your engine...then ya...get em. If not...get a new solid rubber engine/trans mount from AutoZone. I thought I told you to quit buying the fluid filled ones last time you had this issue?

Your call jeeves. I'd have someone fix the one in there.

It is true...but only if you FLUSH it. Just do a pan drop...replace the fluid you lost...put in a new filter...if you don't have a shift kit...I'd buy one while your in there. Get either an Intense-Racing one or a TransGo from Dave @ Triple Edge.

If it isn't broke...don't fix it IMO. Oil pan gasket means dropping the cradle...it sucks.

Yes...because no report means they won't show up...period.

See the blue yo...and just for my reference...why in god's name are you running a N*? Your in no need for a throttle body that big.

Well if you like $5 worth of plastic shims wrapped in packaging tape that took 20 minutes to get apart with no instructions tossed in a cam install kit box. Then sure.
ok, i was just wondering because you didnt talk about that one. When i do my fluid change i wanna do a shift kit. and they come with instruction right?, but i do get the basics on what I have to do.

Yes...just remember...you get what you pay for. Granted I sold mine to a local because I wasn't about to put those shims in my transmission...and I just waited and bought the whole damn transmission from Dave

x2 on everything nick or nic said, or however you spell it :p

pm me, i have a complete Intense shift kit i pulled out from my other trans, all springs etc are still like new

VERY not true.

Actually its 100% true, I have flushed transmission with 200k and they have been fine. If it effects your transmission in a negative way your trans was all ready shot. Now if some one does not know what they are doing when they flush it then yes they can mess up the transmission.

I'm saying I know from seeing 4T65's around here that were being held together with the old fluid and flushing them out means you lose that bond...then PRESTO...new fluid...nothing is held together anymore...bye bye trans.

Thanks alot blue, yeah I think I'll go with the pan drop right now...really don't feel like buying a new tranny in the near future. As far as the emissions...I guess I'll just buy an o2 emulator, that'll take me down to two not readys, I think you're allowed to have 2 and still pass.

Oh, and as far as the northstar goes, I've got bigger plans for this setup than what's on there now. And a friend of mine gave me an awesome deal on that and the ported blower when he went gen V.

Not knocking it as long as you plan on at least camming the thing...or a big intercooler...just saying right now it PROBABLY isn't really helping you anymore than a Ported L67 would.

Yeah, hopefully this fall it'll be going cammed and i/c'ed, at least cammed.
