• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Finally decided and purchased a 3rd car.....

For nearly a year now i've been wanting to get another car to tinker around and have fun with. Not that the two cars I work on ain't fun, I just wanted some else to play with. I thought about going all out and building something or restoring something from scratch. Thats easier said than done, especially with my work schedule. So I decided on looking for something newer that I can have fun with again, hard to find something nice and clean to start with. I've been looking for awhile, alot of ragged out rides out there trust me! Then I decided, well I REALLY don't need a 9-10 sec car now anyways or the maintence that comes with one so I decided on focusing on something more fun and practical.

Well, enter in Abby. We've been trying to agree on something for awhile, the only car we ever agreed on is her GTP and she loves it course shes always liked mine. She wanted something more room and 4 doors. Shes been looking at Avaitors, Trailblazer LS, etc... all I can say is BOOOOOOOOOOOORING. I didn't want something i couldn't enjoy too, otherwise there was no point in this endever. Basically I wanted something RWD, V8, Lots of power, Lots of potential, and something cool to roll in.

This morning she looked on autotrader and found something, something very nice and something we can both agree upon. This evening we went and looked at it and took it home! Its got plently of room for whatever she wants it for and it has plenty of power and potential for me. I never thought i'd own an SUV until now.....

Yep... a 2007 Trailblazer SS! Its only got 6,000 miles on it and not a flaw on it. I couldn't believe it. I tried to haggle the dealer on the price some but the damn thing was too perfect, imagine that! I still got it for about 2k under bluebook so I can't complain one bit. Its a ballzy SUV, i'll say that. Its pretty much stock, except for the Ventvisors, Tint, and a Flowmaster 40 Series 2 chamber muffler. I'm betting it'll run low 14s as it sits. It smokes 20s easily (scared the salesmen a couple times I think!).

Anyway, here's the 3rd edition to the family...

LOL! I donno if it'll ever go off-roading, probably street only. Besides (forgot to mention) its loaded w/ everything but AWD and Navi. I didn't want AWD anyway. For one, they can be weak with power made, and for two I plan on bolting up a set of slicks to this bad boy one of these days. :-) Oh well, gotta be careful w/ what I do to it, its got a 5yr/100,000 GM Warranty on it. I don't want to void it at all, but I plan to have some fun either way.

At least now I can get a little more serious with my car too, my GTP will remain the play toy, I got many more plans for that car...

Yeah definatly, 2WD. I didn't want AWD. Mostly because I plan on modding this thing, especially after the warranty goes up. And the AWD can tend to be weak with some power, besides there a pain in the ass to work on and more weight. All I have to do is throw on a set of QTPs, and have some fun! :-)

I got plenty of time to save up for an Intercooled Magnacharger kit, guess I better start saving up.

For now, a few maintence and appearance stuff. Remove the OU badge, Remove the Trailblazer badge, find a cover for the hitch, wash and wax it. Soon I plan on dumping the Dexcool (before it becomes a problem) and run Peak Global like I do on the GTPs. May drop in a 180 T-stat too, I need to do some research and find a forum for these things so i can learn more...

sweet!! looks good Iron. I do have to ask Iron, you mentioned u drop the dexcool in ur GTP'S before it becomes a problem. what issues are there with it. Sorry for cutting a question on ur thread.

That's a SWEET ride Shawn!!

My buddy has a black one, and oooooooh maaaannn!! He put a cam, kooks, and a tune in it, and it runs something like 12.96 @112. It's definately not something you would expect to be that fast. If you need to know anything about them, or need any bling for it, give me a shout and I'll try to hook you up! I can get you a hitch cover for it as well. Any GM accesories....just let me know

And Congrats on the purchase!

Thanks for the TBSS site links QuikGT, I'll check them out. I got alot to learn on this new platform.

04 GTP COMP G: Dexcool tends to sludge up and become nasty. I hate the **** personally and have personally got rid of DEX in about 7 cars, this one will be the next one to do. Especially in its very young age.

shaferz: Hell man, I forgot you have a TBSS too! PM me about it sometime. Looks like we have something in common, i'm liking the GTP/SS Family. Thanks for the links, i'll check em out.

Reptile: I maybe in touch with you on GM stuff. I'm curious if they have warranty friendly upgrades for these like they do on the Cobolts and Vettes. I need to find that out. Its needing a CAI pretty bad for starters.

Thanks for the compliments guys. I'm still in shock we own an SUV, i've only owned 2-door cars! LOL
