• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Finalized LIM gasket plans

after parking in the same spot for 5 years i had made a 3 foot round stain in the parking lot.

new engine is leak free is so damn nice now i tell ya.

Also depends on the rate of the leak. If the oil pan is simply "moist" then maybe just leave it be. Oil is cheap.

Plants love oil anyways.

Pretty much what it is. The whole seam is wet, but doesn't drip. And if it does, it must do it once a week because I've never noticed oil stains.

get under the car. wipe it clean with a rag, then spray it all down with brake cleaner. then a day or so later see whats wet, and where.

take the plastic inspection cover off too and clean that. it is wet inside, the rear is likely leaking.

Will degreaser work?

I like how this was a thread that was supposed to be about final preparations for my LIM gasket and now it's turned into a totally different topic. From what I've heard, this is normal :p.

once again, it ran its course................:th_scratchhead:

Edit: just so you know. you can lock a thread you started. bottom left of the reply box.

Well no luck on the TB hose. Junkyard didn't have any that I saw. Then again, I only looked in the Pontiac part, will have to check the Buick and Chevy sections later this week. But every GP motor I found didn't have one. Must be a pretty common problem for them to break that easily.

you talkin about that plastic vacuum step hose that ubends on both ends ? i used the scotty method. shoved a smaller hose into a bigger hose...it worked !

Went to the junkyard again today and found the original Y-hose on a LeSabre. All is good now :th_thumbsup-wink:.
