• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

few questions.

Gonna put the stock cam back in for the summer until i start school and then put the XPZ back in possibly or a different cam. Not sure yet. But that way while im in school i can learn all the good stuff on cams that i dont know. like degreeing and such. my questions are:
1. I have ZZP CNC Ported heads that will be staying on, stock valve springs will be put back on as well. Do the cnc ports have the longer valves? i though i read the are .100 taller but not sure?
2. can i run my (12) 7.05 length pushrods cause i dont have my stock pushrods anymore?

they dont have longer valves. the valve guides are machined an extra .100" to accomodate higher lift cams and rocker ratios.

im sure you can run the 7.05s, isnt stock 7.10?

stock is 7.02 IIRC. Should i at least get some 1.9 modded rockers for time being?

So everything will work stock wise with these zzp cnc ports?

yeah, the heads shouldnt make a difference. the guides are just milled so that if you wanted to use that extra lift you could.

i dont see why itd be bad to run rockers except itd be a waste of money if you plan on putting a cam back in it at some point.

what do u mean blue? its coming out just for numerous problems. Ill have more of the know how to set up the valve train and everything while im in school ya know.

Ya ur right on that bio.

i think the xpz cam i have isnt right. looking at the cam card, none of the specs match what other specs ive been looking at like on the Comp Cams site.

the cam comes from comp or from zzp? do they have stock of them at their place or do they just ship them out of comp? that will answer your question.

this is off the how to section under "camshaft information" :

ZZP XPZ: 217/225 .352/.333 116 N/A

This is the cam card that came with my cam brand new from ZZP:

Those numbers should match right?

well, the lift numbers you posted read like this:

.352" x 1.6 = total intake lift = .5632"

.333" x 1.6 = total exhaust lift = .5328"

therefore, the listed numbers sound a little off and the cam card is probably right.

the email i just got from him an hour ago asking for the specs of the cam, he said "the specs are on the intense site when they compared one. The cam card isnt that accurate"
