fender rolling i suck...ftl

ok so i have a dented rear quarter because some dumb lady backed into the side of my car so i figured id practice rolling a fender (since it will be repaired incase i fukk it up) ..with a heat gun and rubber mallet....boy am i glad i used a bad fender....lots of cracked paint and it looks misshaped from the side there are little indents where i make the cuts in the lip to bend them up.....anybody know why this happened?

hey has anybody ever dremeled the lip out of the fender then sanded it smooth and painted the inside with some kind of rubber under coating?
 
a) why did you make cuts in it? all i did was bend up the entire thing as one piece.

b) if you cracked paint you didnt heat up the fender enough

c) you could dremel it completely off, but for what reason?

c) more clearance a little is something...

btw i maxed out my suspension with the fenders rolled and i get no rubbing....if i have lowering springs on the struts still bottom out at the same level right? ill just have less spring and therefore be sitting lower....i know nothing about suspension haha
