fe4 suspension

The bilsteins found on the GXP's are a very good strut. They will handle the a lowering spring just fine. These are what are referred to as the FE4 suspension.

So using that logic....does this mean the KYB Excel-G replacements for the FE4 suspension should handle lowering springs just fine, too? And someone was told by a KYB employee that the FE4 specific replacements for the Monte Carlo/Impala have a 10mm lower ride height (thus why it was recommended to him if he's going to lower the GP). Can anyone confirm this?

I should have been more specific. The GXP and the Buick Lacrosse Super were the only one's to get the bilsteins (FE4). The monte carlo SS and the impala SS had the FE3 struts. The excel g's by KYB are made for the monte carlo and impala FE3 strtuts and not as a replacement for the GXP and Lacrosse Super. I am not sure of the valving on the excel g's. I would suspect that they may be similar to the gr2's or slightly stiffer than the gr2's.

They never got the bilsteins. The GXP and the lacrosse super were the only ones. That I am certain. I would still go AGX's or bilsteins for lowering spring. I am pretty sure the ecxcel g's are just slightly stiffer than the gr2's and not by much. It's too bad that the GMPP koni's were discontinued.
