Faulty gas gauge?

So I filled my tank up on Thursday. I've driven about 75 miles so far, and the gas gauge needle hasn't moved. This is on an 03 grand prix, 3.1. Is there an easy way to check? Do these cars have a history of faulty gauges? Didn't have this issue until this fill up/this week.
 


Yeah, almost certainly a bad sensor. Depending on the mileage and your budget, you may want to consider replacing the whole pump module.
 


I just couldn't help myself, he said he filled the tank and it hadn't moved so that tells me it's full. Then you asked where it was, I just kind of laughed.

I can see where you were coming from but to me it was just a commom sense guess lol.
 
LOL. Yeah. I had mine peg at full recently also, but after being on this forum for a couple years, I take NOTHING for granted.

Last summer, I had the minivan gauge quit at half tank. Half to full it worked like normal. So, you never know.
 


Meh. My 94 Olds Cutlass will read full until I have 100 miles on the tank. I don't work really hard to top off, but I do get it full. With my avg of 23mpg it means I burn off around 2 gal before it moves and 3-4 before it is below the full hash mark. Deosn't really bother me. I could have adjusted it when I replaced the fuel pump, but I know how it reads. When its on E I have about 15 -20 miles left. It's not the end of the world. Many cars I have driven and been around are the same. You have to put some miles on before the fuel level drops at all.
