Fan Question

SG2000GTP

New member
I just replaced my intake manifold gasket. Now the fans wont work. Everything seems to be hooked up. I replaced the water temp sensor on the bottom of the intake. My question is: Could that be the problem? Is that the sensor that tells the fan to come on? I will try in the morning turning on the a/c... That should automaticly turn on the fans. I think ? LOL Any way the car is a 2000 GTP. Thank You for the help.

Thank you! I should have explained more. Yes the car is now running hot and at no time will the fans come on. I have not checked to see if the fans come with the a/c. The fusses are good and no probs before. I was wondering if it could be that new sensor I put in ?

New sensor should work fine but why did you change it in the first place? Did you bleed all the air out of the coolant?

I replaced it because I had the intake off and it was alot easier to do with it off. I am pretty sure that all the air is out I heater is blowing hot air. but please refresh my memory on how to bleed the air out of it. I know that thermostat housing has a bleeder screw on it how does that work?

i like to start the car, top it off, leave the cap open, let it idle till the fans come on, that way you know the t stat opened up, then open the bleeder screw a few turns till a stream of coolant come out. shut screw, top off rad if needed, shut the cap.

it can take up to 15 minutes of idling to get all warmed up, so be patient.
