factory speaker info/ Trunk rattling bad!

Im pushing 2 12" kickers in a ported box with a 1500 watt Class D amp. Needless to say My door speakers aren't loud enough for it to sound like I want it to. So im going to buy new 6.5 door speakers as well as 6x9 in the back. I cant find the watts and specs on the factory speakers to make sure that I am getting better speakers. I would need close to double the highs for it sound good. Im pushing no bass out of my door speakers so Im not worried about the bass as much as I am the vocals.

:th_lipssealed1::th_lipssealed1: Also I have never had a trunk that rattles like my Grand Prix. Does anybody have any tricks to get the trunk to quite down other than dynomat. I have tightened all of the bolts and put rubber washers under the spoiler.. It helped NOTHING. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
 


Its not the license plate that is rattling. Its the lid of the trunk. I have paper tags on my car right now and its still rattling like crazy
 
Stock speakers are about 12w RMS - 22w peak. To stop the rattles, I built a wall dividing the subs from the trunk. The sound is clean and the rattles are gone. I did, however, dynomat the deck lid that the 6x9's are mounted to.

Man it took me over 75sqft in the Trunk or about three layers before it all went away. Just got through tighten bolts. Get the rubber washers for the spoiler to get it off the Trunk. Secure plate or dynomat behind it.
 
MLV or Mass Loaded Vinyl isn't meant to get rid of vibrations. It's used to help offset resonating panels. When panels vibrate, they're acting the same as speakers and add a lot of terrible noise to your music. Remove 90% of resonation(to at least a lower octave) by adding 25% coverage of MLV(most people call it dynamat, second skin, raamat, etc.)

Next you need to get a closed cell foam to help isolate other items away from the resonating panels. CLD tiles are better for large flat panels(weight is your friend when treating rattles/vibrations). Otherwise, that wall idea works great!! :)

Ported helps too. Maybe prop open that trunk flap that helps regulate moisture and cabin pressure? License plate is key too.
