So I finally make the 2 hr drive to Niagara Falls to pick up my mail, (I live in Toronto and have a mailbox in the US) And I have a letter from the NYS DMV telling me my license is suspended. I havent had a NY Drivers license since 2009!

I imported my car to Canada(tons of paperwork/fees), cancelled my NY insurance, got Ontario insurance and license way back in April/May of 09, shortly after I got my permanent resident status.

You think that after all the paperwork I filed to do all that, that they would get a hint? Are they really that retarded? Now I have to straighten out this mess, if I'm lucky, I might only have to pay $75 and return my plates. I only kept them as a souvenir anyway. Have any of you had to deal with arsenine DMV crap like this?
 


Thats just the thing, I hope I didn't. Now I have to go back and find, hopefully, all my paperwork from 2 years ago to prove it. I've moved 3 times since then. Its more the way NY gov't does things. I don't hear from them for 2 years, and now all of a sudden they want money.

jersey does the same thing, if you dont surrender you plates they suspend your lic, make sure when you return them you get a receipt.

the days of hanging them on the way are way over
