F#$@IN window regulators

TorqueAutoMotiv

donated to get this wow
no warning or nothing and they just go out
Now i gotta push the car in my garage out and park in my garage and i guess ill fix the pas side front and the driv side rear thats been out

Wheres the best place to get them?

And is there a write up somewhere

Already replaced two on my mom's, getting ready to replace a third. High power electric motor, pulling on a plastic part. Way to fail GM. That, and the older W body B pillar door handles. :/

One good thing, they at least bolted these in, not like the N and J bodies that are riveted in, and have to have holes drilled in the doors to replace a motor/regulator.

Yea my wifes old aerostar was a b1tch to replace the window motor on
order 2 window motor/regulators until then the car stays in the garage

DO NOT get the ebay ones, lasted 2, count em 2 window cycles. Ended up going to the yard and getting a good used stock one and good since then (almost 2 years).

Na i got them off rock auto they have been good about replacing failed parts
I hear a lot of complaints on these window motors. I've replaced a couple of these motors and here's what i've found. Some windows fit tight in the felt channel creating a drag on the motor. Some windows tend to fit a little cockeyed in the channel's as well also creating a drag on the motor. Since you can't adjust the window channel you're going to need to silicone the felt railings real good to facilitate a smooth up and down motion.

I was thinking about that basically ganna lube all slide areas

Im ify on the rock auto motors case i wasnt spending 150 a peice but Ive returned things to them before with no issues even when they shouldnt have takin the stuff back

my driver side passenger one is out.

GHEY
Wait, what?

The one that went out a couple weeks ago on my mom's car, is the right rear. It's probably been used a total of 15 times in the 2+ years she's had the car. It just fell down one day, for no reason. As GTPluv said, you'll be a pro soon enough.

in the 6+ years of owning some kind of 97-03 GP and never having power window probs..... i just replaced my driver side regulator/motor yesterday. only reason it died was from me slamming the sh*t out of my door when i killed my motor a few months ago. i got mine for 90 bucks at o reillys, but used my friends shop acct to get that price. and Torque... its easy, may be a 15 minute job. door panel off.pretty much all the bolts on inside of door panel have to come off.... and 2 bolts holding window to regulator itself. pretty self explanatory when u get door panel off. good luck... dont stick it in backwards like i did by accident... was a b1tch to get back out .

both regulators arrived around noon took about 1.5 hours to do including a trip to autozone for new door panel clips

Very easy and strait forward
something to pry on the door panel with I used a nylon panel prybar
t-30 torx and extension a 3/8's ratchet
a 10mm socket for the rear one bolts a little tricky to get with the t-30
and 9 bolts each reg/motor and its out
lube for the lubable areas and your good to go
could be done in around 20 min per door

the ones i got were 56 i think plus i rushed shipping cause i didnt know how long the rain was ganna last

both of them that i pulled out had the springs popped out of where they slid in the motor BUt was easy enough no worries some other cars are a pita to do

I shouldn't say anything, because I know what I'll have to fix next.

But I bought this car in '02 and have never had a problem with my windows. I smoke, so they get used on a daily basis.
Now that I think about it..... my brake lights are original also... hmmm.

anybody have any advice on how to get the window attached to the plastic clips that pull it down? i've gone through three different kind of epoxys and none have worked.
