F*ck you poison oak

Man those are some horror stories. I never went looking for it either it wasn't until I was probably about 20 or so finding out that not everyone got it. When talking my oldest camping we always go for a hike and I point out different plants on the way. When I was in Boy Scouts we learned all that as well, and would have a couple of the guys get it probably from chasing each other around trying to throw spear grass at each other.

No, but I did find that soap that TecNu makes that you linked to. Scrubbed the living daylights out of it in 2 showers last night. It has seem to kill off most of the itching so far. Just a few small spots that still itch but the Calagel seems to keep it at bay. Looks to be clearing up on my arms at least. Will probably be a week before it's gone at this rate. Might just go w/ the bleach thing tonight just for the hell of it. Not much to loose, lol..
 
Well in that case time to find the bleach.

On the plus side I got the Bonne back from the alignment shop after I finally installed all new struts all around this past Sat. Rides like a totally different car now, no more driving like a boat on rough water.
 


Hot water to make the itching hold off for several hours, then scrub with Technu. It's a Mineral Spirit with some moisturizing to keep your skin from drying out. Hot water is nearly like a religious rapture on Poison Ivy/Oak.
 
I've gone camping several times and have ran through the woods at my cabin and haven't got poison ivy ever. I'm thinking I'm like Scotty, almost immune to it.

Ah, I know that one. The circle of guys I ride BMX with through the woods call it "f*ckweed", so whenever the lead rider either sees it or hits it he'll call it out so the rest of us can get around it. I've been hit with that stuff before more times than I can count. Now that I have a new set of shin guards it should cut that junk down.

Well, I tried all I could but it wasn't getting better so I had the luxury of spending 4 hours in the ER last night. Ended up w/ a steriod shot (thanks for hitting the muscle, btw- felt GREAT!), and 2 pills to jump start it. Now have a prescription for high strength antihistamine and and anti-itch. Can't use anymore Technu or it will react badly with the medicine. Cool showers only. I know the hot water feels great but with the way my skin is now I think it would hurt worse. It seems to finally be drying up, which is good- except now it's itching because it's drying up, lol... Just can't win.

Worst part is with the meds I'm on I can't even drink a damn beer....

Lol. I was making salsa for hours a few years ago. Some batches I was cutting up habaneros to kick it up a notch. No gloves. Had to take a leak. Yeah, penis burned for hours.

And to top it off, that night I took my contacts out. Felt nothing. Next morning when I put them back in I felt like laser beams were shooting out of my eyes. Seriously sucked. But the salsa was good :)

I learned to take my contacts out before I start messing with peppers or hot wings or something. LOL
 
Well I got poison ivy bad again. I probably should have went and got a steroid shot already because I had it near my eyes. The one was pretty swollen yesterday, but swelling has decreased some today.

I have patches on my arms, lower neck, lower abdomen, small patch on my leg, and in between my fingers. I put gloves on a little bit ago to try to help with that. Going to head to pharmacy to see about Tecnu. Hopefully they have it and I don't have to go all the way to Walmart.

No one needs to see that, lol... And yea, get some Tecnu. Worked good for me. Thank God that sh*t is gone now. And I finally finished that stupid tree ring that caused all of this mess. Looks good at least.

And since I never posted a pic, here is a shot of what my legs/feet looked like about 3 weeks in. And yes, I have flippers for feet :th_laugh-lol3:

 
I tried holding off but couldn't deal with it anymore so I am now sitting here at med express waiting for the doctor to hopefully give a steroid shot and prescription.
