F-Body front Brakes

I purchased and installed the ZZP F-Body Dual Aluminum Piston Brake kit with 12" standard rotors and Performance friction pads. I haven't been that impressed with the improvement. Is there a better pad to use to help improve the stopping? I don't want to buy different rotors just possibly different pads if it will help. Thanks for any input from you guys who have suggestions. I did also buy the stainless lines front and rear but the fronts blew a month ago on my way to church, fortunately on the highway and not far from home. I bought the longer ones ZZP suggested but they still seemed to be about 3" too short. I'm sending them back soon for refund or replacement with 3" longer ones.

really? maybe my old brake system was just that bad, but I saw a BIG improvement.
I am just using duralast MKD pads, and standard rotors.

Are you sure that you installed the calipers on the correct side? The bleeder screw should point straight up.

They may feel spongy to you, but it's actually taking less effort to push the pedal down....they should almost make the car stand on the nose when you compare them to the stock caliper setup.

^X2, first time I mashed the big stick real good my car nosed down and the rear wheels had so little weight on them they locked up.

Thanks for the replies. I did install the calipers correctly with bleeders up. I did have Hawk pads on the original 11" brakes before updating to the 12", so maybe the difference wasn't as great as from stock pads on 11" system. I just don't feel the stop-on-a-dime experience. They do work well just not as great as expected. Thanks again for the replies, and have a great new year guys!

It's the pads. I had performance Friction with PowerSlot rotors years ago and HATED them. THey had to be WAYYYYY to hot for an acceptable initial bite feel. Swap them for Friction Master pads from Advance Auto. THey are rebranded Morse Ceramic pads and are the best pad for the $$$ IMO and I have used quite a few out there.

Thanks for the reply Vinnie. I put the original pads that came with the brake kit. They happened to be Morse ceramic pads. I seated them with three hard stops and now I have the braking I've been wanting. "Now that's what I'm talking about!" It's amazing the difference between those two pad types. Thanks again!

SEE! Expensive isn't always better. I'm glad they worked out for you. THey are now sold under the Friction Master name at Advance Auto.

Vinnie,
I just looked at your mods list. How do you like the KYB adjustables? I want to put those on my '02 GTP. I do a little auto-crossing.
