I tried performing a search and found little. Anyone know a way to make the driver's side seat more comfortable? I'm talking long drive without walking like an old man comfortable.

I'm thinking of taking it to an automotive interior shop and see what options they have that don't involve the standard seat foam (if any). I'd like to see if anyone has any other options worth exploring.

I appreciate the feedback.
 


What vehicle?

When I had my 98 GTP, I put 05 Leather seats in it and from central TX to Louisiana(6hrs twice a month for a year) it was very comfy, no fatigue.

Now, if you have an 04+, I would look into getting a lumbar pillow.
 
No way for us to know what you have unless you tell us. You will probably be advised by the guys here to install Buick seats if its a Pontiac. An upholstery shop can do whatever you like but if the foam changes much, the original seat cover will require modification or replacement.
 
Thought I added it, its a 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix. After about two hours of driving, it starts to really bother me. After 3 hours (stops or not), it gets very uncomfortable.

Had a Cadillac rental once, was like driving in a Lazy Boy. Was awesome. I'm looking to replicate that level of comfort.
 
You sure you have the seat adjusted correctly? I have 2008 GXP seats in my 2000 and they're amazing. Makes the stock seat feel like riving a park bench.

Yep. I've adjusted the lumbar, vertical, horizontal, headrest... Short of installing pillows (don't like that idea much) or having a new seat installed completely, not sure what other options are out there.
 


My GXP is comfy. The most comfortable car I have owned for long trips is my 94 Olds Cutlass 2 door. I don't think those seats swap easily and I am sure any you find are totally shot. Another option I have used are the sharper image gel/memory foam cushions. Sam's will carry them occasionally for $20. In my company F250 I have to use for trips to the field I use one on the seat bottom and the other for my lower back. It makes a world of difference and well worth the $40. Its not a permanent solution, but works great for the occasional long trip.
 


Hey, you're right down the road in San Antonio, there's a regal guy nearby who's dad owns an interior shop here in Cibolo, could get you his info if you like. I recently picked up a bonneville, those damn seats are really comfortable (al7's), not so easy to find though, and no idea how much work that would be getting them into a gp.
 
^^^Quite a bit I think, the seat belt is integrated and all that jazz. I saw it brought up on here awhile back, IIRC.
 
That they are, a buddy has a Bonne and it's a cruiser for sure. Doesn't handle the curvy roads around here all that well though, lol.
