• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

External coolant leak

It's not going to be the heater hoses if it's on the drivers side. Coolant on the drivers side is going to be the coolant temp sensor, the tstat housing seal, the throttle body coolant passages, or the coolant passage on the lim under the throttle body. Also could be the drain pepcock on the radiator or worst case the heater core is leaking and your passenger floor will be wet from coolant too.

here is a top view of the stain on the garage floor earlier this month the car was straight over it the pic is orreinted n.s.e.w the wide part of the puddle ending up on the driver side

really? come on, help us help you. and host the pics off site, we cant see a 1 inch pic. then take your camera and take pics of wet spots on the engine, spots on the floor are no help unless the car is parked over it.

when done right a pic will be this large.

yes there is, its how it works. if it leaks, and coolant gets low you will find a wet spot, your just not looking hard enough, or not looking at all. did you say the mechanic heard it hissing when pressure tested? then theres a leak.

if need be put dye in the coolant, it will leave a trail you can see on the engine. you'll need to get under it at some point too to look for the trail of coolant.

if your engine is a greasy dirty mess, clean it, once clean watch for the leak, will be much easier to see it then most of the time.

its coming from the frnt of the engine right in in the middle of the passenger side tire water could it be the timing chain cover

could be a lower elbow, we're not there to see it tho, and your descriptions are not so good.

maybe time to hit up another shop, cause the last one is a bunch of quitters.

What the hell? It's facing North, and South, and East, and West? Almost seems like you're playing games here man. You really gotta post some better pics. Stop posting all these pics of wet spots on the pavement. That doesn't help us at all. Also, read that link Scotty posted about placing pics on here.

As to your problem, it could be your lower radiator hose. How old is that hose? Might be leaking from there. That wouldn't necessarily show signs of dribble on the engine. Maybe its the weep hole in your water pump suggesting gasket failure...

Get the front of the car on ramps. Get under the car, remove splash shield, and wipe down everything you can see that's wet. Grab some brake cleaner and wipe everything down clean. Then, place some white cardboard under the car each time you park, and watch for leaks. After you see some trickles, snap some photos. Let us take a look at those.

Simplest thing to do is jack the car up and look at exactly where its dripping from, and follow it up as best as you can. It should give you a pretty good idea.

Hello fellas im reporting the fix to my coolant leak problem. The shop found that its the timing chain cover that was leaking. the repair cost me 700.00. 90 percent labor . but its a job a do it your selfer i just didnt have the time or another vehical to do the job. I hope this will help anyone who is having a massive coolant leak and cant physically cant see where it coming from. Thanks for yall advice.

news flash, thats a 100% labor minus the 15 dollar gasket that the shop paid maybe $8 for.

700 bucks, you would have been best to shop around for a better price. a engine swap costs less at a shop, (like the 500 range) aka they seen ya coming.
