Have an 04 grand prix with an cai and flowmaster super 44 and could stand the drone at first but working now and have to drive a good distance to work and now cant stand the drone what would you guys recommend to quiet it down some have the weekend off and would like to work on it
I seen on a corvette forum people were using peel and seal almost like dynamat but a lot cheaper
- DYNAMAT
- PEEL AND SEAL

Well your going to need to try it and see.. You might kill some of your drone or it might kill some or it might not kill any. You choose those loudass mufflers for w/e reason now you gotta play the trail and error game..

Peel and seal and dynamat are sound deadeners, not sound insulators. They will not quiet the car. MLV will block sound.

However, I don't know how you're droning with the 44 if you have the stock res. I have a pair of 44s with my stock res and it's barely louder than stock.

I had Flowmaster 40's on my old GP with a new resonator and I didn't think it was very loud. A resonator will absorb more sound than a glasspack. I dono why because they look about the same inside but trust me it does.

just called the shop that did my muffler and tips and told him that I had drone with my super 44 and asked about the glasspack and he said it would help with the drone and could install one for $80

it will. i had a flange welded on the end of my glass pack so it would still unbolt from the DP.

this was a 32 inch, i needed to cut the inlet tube off to remove 2 inches so it would fit right.

the only place to get that flange is at a muffler shop, they can also weld it for you. i paid $10 for the flange, 8 for the gasket, and 10 to have the flange welded on, the glass pack is a thrush, it was 25 bucks at autozone.

GP came with a shorter res, so look up a walker or something to get the over all length so you get the right glass pack so it fits.

or if you have the stock res still, measure it inlet tube to outlet tube ends. thats what you'll need to replace it.

unless its all been hacked up already, it maybe best to just have a shop weld the glass pack in.

ok good hate the drone have a long drive to work and still have the resonator still there the mechanic said hes putting in a 27'' glasspack and going to get it welded

is it a stock res? if its not rusted out i dont think the glass pack will help. glass pack is pretty much the same thing as a new resonator.

maybe its time for a new pair of mufflers?
