how do you know its not rotted out on him?

depends on what your looking for , stock replacement or some tone being a v8 mufflers would sound good. the v6 just sounds like crap to me, so i like it quiet.

Don't do chambered mufflers...they drone like a b1tch. Keep the resonator. Get a 3" catless downpipe and some mufflers. That'll free up the horrid DP design and make more noise with whatever mufflers you want; I suggest Corsa, Borla, Dynomax, or the like.
