for the gxp exhaust it really depends on what u want, do u whant crazy loud or just i nice rumble ? its all completely on preference. i run a 3'' exhaust all the way untill the ypip then its 2.5 but i have thrush turbo mufflers, for days i go cruzing, ihave a cutout b4 the y pip and i pull that off, sounds like a 5.0 mustang, and for show days i have a cutout on the down pipe i open for crazy loud exhaust. for an example of the crazy loud check out my youtube account " joshv1452 " fyi my 3'' exhaust was just made at a shop. i will post a video soon of the sound with cutouts closed

I went with a Hogan Performance 3" catless DP and from there made my own custom 3" into dual 3" catback utilizing 3 of the Schoenfeld 3" dia. racing mufflers. If you place these mufflers on a quart jug of oil you can still see the quart jug on all 4 sides. They're small...REALLY SMALL...and essentially are just a minimally baffled pipe with NO packing.

I don't think i need to tell you how obscenely obnoxiously loud my car is. People either love it or hate it. I get WAY MORE compliments that complaints even from law enforcement. It makes the car sound like it's about to rip someones frickin face off everytime you jump on the throttle and they just don't expect that from a little grand prix.

At the dragstrip they let people get pretty close to the staging lanes and I've made more than one person snap their head out of sheer WTF when i stood on the throttle to do my burnout. Even moreso when it lays down mid/high 13's fully loaded.

With all that said i am converting the Catless DP back to a catted outfit with a custom highflow cat in hopes of toning it down a little bit. I don't want to change the tone itself...just shave a couple decibels off.

This is how i built my Y split. Took 2 90* bends,flipped, cut and rewelded.

Exhaust...the FULL catback...in the vice welding the last seam for the final tip. you'll see it's full 3" from the DP even back to the split where there is 1 of the mufflers and it's full 3" out the back...in each tip there is also another muffler.

I have a 2007 gp gxp and I'm looking for similar sound of the magnaflow or the slp powerflo but I only want to spend around 350-450 at the most and I need full catback because my exhaust system is rusting pretty bad any ideas?

Cut out the resonator and replace it with a straight pipe. Cut off the stock mufflers and replace with mufflers of your choice.

I would find an exhaust shop willing to bend you some 2.5 or 3" pipe and have them run you a new catback. Most shops don't charge a whole lot to do this kind of work. If all you're looking for is stock replacement with a bit more sound as stated i would leave the resonator out and insert some name brand mufflers in place of stockers. Spintech sound real good on these cars. if you want SLP style tone use bullet mufflers instead. beware it's gonna get pretty loud if you do...SLP's are never quiet.

i've been looking for putting a different exhaust on my 07 GXP too. I've too heard that you only need different mufflers to obtain that deeper rumble. I have yet to see just the magnaflow mufflers not the whole rest of the exhaust piping too. I don't have 500+ bucks for a whole new exhaust system right now. Anyone know where i can get just the mufflers or is it wise to just replace the whole exhaust system (which i'd rather not have to do)
