exhaust piping

anyone know what the stock exhuast pipe size is leading up to the mufflers, and if 2.25 mufflers will fit if they get welded on?

2.25" before the Y pipe at the end, from they Y back its 2".

the pipe is 2.25 all the way to the mufflers. I had the 2.5 inlet on the muffler I think because the muffler just barely slide over the pipe, I used a hammer and block of wood to get it on and then just welded it.

I could be wrong on the pipe from y back.

so i should go with a 2.5 inch opening on the mufflers?

It is 2" at the muffler.
