Exhaust or Engine?

Okay,

so my question is: do all pontiac cars have a slight chug like its missing coming from the exhaust system. It doesn't do it all the time, but sometimes its very noticeable. I believe it's coming from the Exhaust because the RPM needle doesn't move while its doing this slight chugging.

I know my old 98 grand am gt did the same thing. The engine was fine it just felt like it was in the exhaust system.

Is there something within the exhaust system going to hell. I have no engine codes or anything. My car runs like a champ, I've just always wondered what the slight chug was.

Thanks Guys in Advance!

You're right it definitely could be transmission. I never thought of that. It seems fine. Perhaps its just the fly wheel just spinning in there. hmmm?
My tranny seems alright. I've had no issues thus far. I do notice its different than my grand am in the terms of shifting, but thats expected going from a tiny car to a niceeee 04 gtp comp g ;)

Only while idling. It's always done this sort of feels like its missing. You can feel it in the seats. My old grand am did the same exact thing; we always thought it was he exhaust system just rattling around. It doesn't do it all the time. Some days it feels worse than others. It always goes into gear and shifts fine. I had the tranny fluid and filter changed last summer and they said they didn't see any flecks or anything. A magnetic type thing was used while the fluid was draining. Any suggestions?
