• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Exhaust noob question on a budget

You install a set of SD headers and you'll find out how "easy" it is lol. 98% of the are not just bolt on and move on.
other headers like zzp are a direct fit and much easier but you pay for it.

I'll never install headers lol it was a PIA just on my Hyundai when I did it lol

what no like get 2 60$ flowmaster/magnaflow mufflers off ebay. Have a local shop weld them in. Gets your more sound, thats what you want right? or did i read the first post wrong.

Intake. Get one.

Don't touch the res unless you like poopy noises. This is not a good sounding motor. Get a pair of Flowmaster 44s welded on with some nice tips. It'll be like the stock sound but a little deeper and louder. No rasp.

At least, on my Bonneville it sounds good. Not sure on the differences that may come up and change things on a 2004+ GP.

No no sorry I misunderstood... I thought you were talking about me getting a whole flow-master system. Do you recommend flowmaster over thrush?

Alright sweet... How much for a weld job do you think?

I couldn't tell you, search on Youtube for what you think sounds best. The welding cost will depend on where you go, you probably have some mom and pop exhaust shop in your town some place. I wouldn't say more than 100 for mufflers and tips welded in.

Is that a good thing or bad thing ;) lol don't think I've ever come across a pissed off tractor... Even in the little hick town I live in

I had a side piped cherry bomb extreme no cats no Rez nothing on my 4.3 Chevy. It was def a pissed off tractor and made your ears bleed. I have a video idt I can post it on here

Referring back to the Headers....
I got the ZZP stainless and they were honestly a bigger pain in the a** than I expected. It took me and a master mechanic about 4 hours to get them in! Fitment was okay except I needed to bend my trans dipstick. If you are just looking for sound I would stick with just a catback/mufflers. Best bang for your buck!
