Exhaust Manifold Removal

Hello. I'm removing my stock manifolds from my 2001 Grand Prix GTP, and will be replacing them with SLP headers. I was wondering what the best way is to remove them. Also, I heard that if you remove the engine mounts, the whole engine will turn forward, which makes it easier to get to the back. Is this true, or does anyone have any tips for this? Thank you!

Thank you dsmuts! I guess I can't forum too well. I have another question. I bought used headers, and they're a bit dirty. It looks like parts of the outside got sort of burned off. What do you guys usually use to clean them up and make them look nice? Do you trust the Rust-Oleum exhaust paint on headers or will they peel?

Like Smuts said... Their going to discolor anyways.. Just run them. I rather leave them alone then go through the hassle of pairing them to only find that the paint has burned off.
