Exhaust Advice

Im looking to upgrade my exhaust. Im currently running a stock non-supercharged 3800 with a catless pipe and resonator delete. Car sounds good but i want a really low 8 cylinder rumble thats loud enough to get attention but not loud enough to get me a ticket. I will be doing the following mods in the next month or so, ram air intake, aftermarket PCM, Pacesetter Headers, and a ZZP 3" downpipe.

Skip the pacesetters/downpipe combo and get you some speed daddy headers for $217 shipped on ebay. It'll come with a catless downpipe. As to having a V8 rumble... I got bad news... it's a 3800 V6. You might try some glasspack or perhaps a Borla exhaust, but you're not going to get all the way there.

Ya he's right you won't get the v8 rumble even if you tried flowmasters, it may idle as a rumble but when u rev it, it sounds all distorted and raspy as he'll. the closest you will get is borla it's just expensive and the speed daddy headers will add on to the sound. If you really want to change the sound throw in a camas well as headers it may be expensive but you will get the rumble ur looking for and extra ponies along the way

I'm running SDs, Magnaflow high flow cat, Walker 3" resonator and stock mufflers. Sounds pretty good to me. Nice and throaty, but yes a little raspy at higher RPM. The firing sequence of our engines just makes it have the rapid fire rasp sound at higher RPMs.
