Evo 9 GSR vs Grand Prix GTP



My buddy in a 2001 Bonneville beat a 2010 Sti with a gen 5 and an s1x cam. Now mind you how a bonneville is heavier. Goes to show stock evos/sti cars are from untouchable as their owners like to believe.
 
The second race we did, The driver of the Evo wasnt shifting as fast as he should have. When he does, its a pretty hard shift. Wants to replace some clutch bushings I think to help out.
 


at the heart of every Evo is still the same basic 4G63 that every turbo mitsu has used since what...1988?

my 93 TSi AWD made about 200hp. It took almost EIGHT GRAND to break a theoretical 400hp...and it was never actually proven that it did...because at that point i was snapping drive axles with an AUTOMATIC.

The only jap 4 cylinders worth a damn are already in their streetbikes...

all that said...Evo IX vs GTP? roflmao. more like Evo IX thrashes GTP. as it should be. no competition stock, lightly modded, or even heavily modded in the GTP's favor.

If i owned an Evo and lost to ANY GTP...i'd just go home and kill myself.

What about the 4B11?

Also, I thought the Evo itself didn't drop until after the GVR4? Like, early 90's...because I'm pretty sure they had the 4G63 in the late 80's, but not the Lancer Evo I.

That sucks...my buddy had about 3k in his minus the race trans with the Evo extended 5th and was making over 400 on corn gas in his 2G GSX.

So, any EJ, SR, or 6bolt 4G63/4B11's are total trash? Hmmmmmmm....

So 250~ AWHP is something to brag about? I know plenty of EVO's that are VIII/IX/X's that are basically stock and don't run much faster than a cam/pulley 3800. They aren't anything to write home about until you start throwing mods at them. It's not that big of a deal.

$8000 to make 400 hp on a 4G63? You got hosed. I BOUGHT a 255 awhp car for $2000. 255 awhp is equal to about 350 crank.

I could make 400 AWHP for about $1000-$2000.

I've got friends making 700 AWHP with less than $8000 into their WHOLE CAR and they aren't breaking things.
