anyone know what engine (L?) and tranny a 2005 base model gp has? Probly a dumb question but im knew to the GM area.

Well, rough guess, take it with a grain of salt, but I think it would be a L26. But wait for a few others to chime in and confirm. They changed things around a bit in those model years so Im not 100%. There was a year in which the GT's became the supercharged vehicles and they dropped the GTP designation, but Im not sure when that happened.

If your car has a supercharger, it's the L32. If no supercharger, it's the L26.

Anyone have any ideas where I should start...beefing up my GP...3800 series III...or should I do exhaust first....any ideas helpful!

I do know that its probably not a good idea to start with exhaust. you need mods before that to back that up. something about you could screw up the pressure and actually slow your car down.
