Engine wont start

That can be your overheating issue, your motor getting hot can cause the valves/lifters etc to clank... and if you let it keep going.. it'll even stall out typically.
 


Well.. we can only offer suggestions. I'm thinking you want to pull the thermostat, ensure the LIM is full of cooalnt. If not, fill it through the stat hole.

Then change the oil Overheating it .. destroys it.

If you aren't low on coolant and the oil isn't horrible, you might be in a position to start with a "do over" on the engine swap.
 
If you think it's a headgasket, does your oil look like a milkshake or do you have coolant leaks? Have you done a compression test? And like Bill said, check your coolant levels. Did you check the coolant level after the engine heated up to open the thermostat?
 
looks like im going to have to do another rebuild. should i go for the l26 or l32 bottom end? or stick with another l67? can i swap in my current mods? will the lower end in those hold up
 


Most logical thing I think happened is the new motor spun a rod bearing. Anyways bill, I have a tight budget but I'm willing to work for whatever is best. What's the cost for the l32 vs l67. I think I need a bottom swap. But I'll have you diagnose it to be sure. But the coolant was rising only to about 210 on a 165 therm. And pulling off the oil cap, it was smoking hot. Literally white smoke. Had synthetic oil change with seafoam same day, and was full when I checked it. Didn't look milky. Just to hot.
 
I was idling at a traffic light. Car wasn't even to temp yet, I just started it up and left work, sat at a red light, then clunk, seize and no more it said. Was very random. This was after I let car cool down the day after my first incident
