i was driving down the highway at 70 mph and the engine just stopped running. it will turn over fine but it is very diffacult if impossible to keep it running. i no ses warning and it has been checked for codes and there are none.

there seems to be no vacuum leaks and the wiring is fine.

i have a 99 gtp with mild modifications.

any suggestions on what to check next?

thanks

no i haven't, i had to get the car towed to a garage and they have not done much yet. they have checked for codes and found none. i have headers and a intense air intake system on this car. i believe this valve must be what makes so much noise until the car is warmed up. it sounds
like the transission is going to fall out.

if they can not find something on monday i am going to take the car back and do whatever suggestions i get from this post.

thanks

if ur talking about the noise that i think u are... thats just ur intake sucking in alot of air... all aftermarket intakes do that on cold starts. also try turning ur key in the on position ( dont crank) listen carefully to see if the fuel pump is purging.

Could be a few things... check fuel pump like said above and maybe even the maf if it is running but hard to keep running.

the noise it makes, when cold, is terrible.

i checked the pump by turning the key to the on position and the pump is purging.

the garage was waiting on a maf to replace that to see if that was the problem.

i have never had a car run this bad and not throw any codes.

A simple troubleshooting step to the MAF is to unplug it. If the car starts with it unplugged, the MAF is your problem.
