It's not when I'm turning though... That's the thing.
I made a video that I will post up here in a second so you guys can listen to the noise itself. Would I just have to add more power steering fluid or would I need to flush it?YouTube - HOW TO CHANGE THE SUPERCHARGER OIL ON A GM 3800 SERIES II V6 sc fluid change vid, any power steering fluid should do the trick.
sounds like sc whine, witch is normal, try a vid parked with the hood open and rev the engine while taking the vid, dont over rev it just goose it some.
...I looked in the manual and it said check the fluid level every 30,000 miles, it didnt say change it, just check it but I'd rather switch it out with all new fluid.
The dealer said make sure the engine has been sitting awhile and is cool before changing the charger fluid, is this true?
Thanks
TC
Unless you baby the car everywhere and never get into boost (doesnt happen) The fluid needs to be changed @ 30k miles. Fresh fluid will go in clear, after avg driving it will go brownish, when it gets dark (like normal oil) its time to change it out
While your out get a good set of dishwashing gloves if you don't have any latex ones already. That oil will be very VERY foul smelling and all the dawn and orange goop in the world will not wash that smell out if you get it on your hands and it soaks in. Trust... I didn't think it would be that bad, like oil it stinks but itll wash out. Not SC Fluid... its something else :th_jester: GF wouldn't let me touch her for 3 days because my hands stunk
