engine/trans mount or suspension squeek?

theres been a consistent "squeek" when going over even the slightest of bumps. decided to take a look yesterday and as i was jacking the car up there was a popping/squeeking noise coming from near the front cradle. i couldnt locate where its exactly coming from but my only two thoughts are either a engine/trans mount. its not coming from the strut/springs nor the control arms. i thought maybe a bushing but ive also had alot of movent pertaining to engine rock when i put the car in park and let off the brake. it doesnt happen when weights put on the wheels, just only when weight is taken off (bumps and jacking the car up..

curious if this has happened to anyone before? its been on going since the early part of summer and getting worse. time to fix it. i was going to take it in but theyll tell me more than whats actually needed so id figure id start here.

well i think i found the problem. looks like i lost the control arm bushings somewhere lol

getting new bushings next weekend, any ideas on where to get some? i know zzp carries them, they worth it? and how much of a pain in the ass will it be to replace them?

The best way to remove the bushings is to find a shop that can press them out for you for a small price. Otherwise you are going to spend a good part of the morning beating them out with a hammer. I tried to do this once before on a camaro front end, gave up after an hour of sweating my butt off and getting nothing done. Took it to a suspension shop and the guy knocked them out for 30 bucks and put my new ones in. He had the tools I obviously don't.

You should also change your motor mount and tranny mount for a little insurance. I did both mine in about 2 hours, and that was with a few beer breaks and some choice words when jacking up the motor. Make sure you take off the upper torque mounts first before you start jacking up the motor otherwise you wont have enough room to sneak the lower motor mount off. Just food for thought....
