Engine Tranny combo removal

Guys,
Good evening. My engine locked up a few weeks back and I purchased a used 3.8 SC with 80k complete and want to swap them out. I tried to remove just the engine but because the motor is seized I cant get the bolts out of the torque converter so it looks like I have to pull tranny and motor together. Is this easier to do from underneath by unbolting the sub frame and picking up the body? If not please give me some direction as I need to get this thing out quickly. I already have the motor completely ready to pull and tried to see if I could get it to separate from the tranny but no luck. Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Kevin

unhook the wiring, unhook the downpipe on the exhaust, unbolt the rack steering shaft, take the 6 bolts out of the top of the struts, take the 4 bolts out of the subframe and it should drop out. I probably missed some stuff but it should be fairly obvious once you start in on it.

Ok..I would absolutely not lift the body off the subframe unless you have a lift in a full shop. Just my opinion...the body has to go too damn high.

You have all the engine stuff unhooked. Put a couple bolts back into the trans to engne to hold them together.
Drain your trans fluid (pull the pan and reinstall)
Unhook your trans likes (little clips and wiggle after you pull the plastic retaining piece back down the line a little)
disconnect the electrical (two connectors at the shifter cable on the trans.
Unbolt the 2 13mm bolts holding the bracket for the shifter cable to the trans and pop the ball of it off the armature for the selector.
On the passenger side looking in to the wheel well, unhook the vss sensor on the differential.
Ensure you unhooked the rear knock sensor (pigtail should have been clipped to power steering pump...single wire)
Pop your ball joints and pull out the axles
Remove the two top nuts (15mm) on teh trans mount in the drivers wheel well.
Lift and go.

search on my name and easy and you'll find the trans removal in case you have any questions about popping the ball joints, removing axles etc. Just don't pull the subframe because you don't need to.
