Engine ticking sound

Okay well ive noticed this for a while.. i think ever since i put the intake on? Alright lets say im going up a hill and its in 3rd. The engine rpm's will rev down to about 1500 and it will use the boost to get up the hill unless i give it more gas to shift down or manually shift it down. I hear a ticking sound when the boost kicks in.. sounds like valves ticking almost? Its not knock i know that for sure because it sounds like a tick.
 


Knock retard can be audible...if it is bad enough...do you have a scanner? Looks like you still have 2 of the 3 worst parts of the factory exhaust system too...the downpipe and the front manifold. Aaaaaand...ticking can be the start of knocking...then you get the real thing...and you pull your plugs and your like...oh hai...I got a chipped piston. Take off your blower belt and go drive it around and see if it still does it. It could be a lifter taking a crap too...try Lucas Oil Stabilizer...if the tick goes away...it means it is valvetrain related.
 
Alright ill try the stabilizer.. thanks! Im getting speed daddy headers off of ebay.. then i wont need a downpipe right? And i try to keep out of boost most of the time anyways since i still have the restrictive part of the exhaust
 
Yes, it comes with the downpipe. If you don't look through the blower section for any header questions I'm kicking you in the face through the monitor since they have been asked a million times in the past week ;)
