Engine threw p0440

It threw it this morning, has cap on fine, I looked at the fuel line on the engine and seen a rubber piece about 3 inches long on the fuel line in the front end of the engine above the valve cover on the left hand side. I replaced that because only thing I could see right away. Not sure what it's called or if it's the reason the code was thrown. Your input? It's a 00 gt with series 2 non supercharged
 


thats a evap leak code.

pic of line on the engine? you clear the code since fixing that line? if not you can un hook the battery for like 30 minutes, that will reset the pcm and clear the code for you.
 
Yes I cleared the code. I started it for about 30 seconds and am at work not did the fix on the way to work I'll see if it throws it again. I'll get a picture of it tomorrow it's a little rubber tube that's in the shape of a u

thats the evap purg solenoid, if the code keeps coming back that solenoid could need a changing.




A code P0440 could mean one or more of the following has happened: The gas cap is not installed or working properly The purge solenoid has failed The canister is plugged and not working properly
