Engine Swap Question

Ok that GTP engine sold to somebody else. But at the junk yard they have 2 supercharged bonneville's. One is like a 2002 and the other one is a newer model. Would these be worth swapping out with my 2001 GT engine if i could get it for a cheap price? And if the newer bonneville is a newer series engine will that just be too big to fit? I could get the transmissions with them too.

Engine and transmission would be best because the tranny is differnt than the the one in your L36. Yea it'll work 'cause they're all Series II. 2003 Series II is a little touchy. If the newer Bonnie is a 2003 you might want to stay away from it.

Might want to grab the PCM or get yours flashed by a tuner.

You cant use the bonne PCM, so just get yours flashed or grab a 99-02 GTP pcm.

Get the motor and the trans out of the bonne, and be ready to grab up a few parts that are different between the 2, such as some of the dogbone mounts, supercharger tensioner bracket (or make a customish mount setup). You will also need a GTP pass side axle. Wiring wise you will need to swap your injector connectors out for EV1 connectors, and swap the map sensor connector or get a series3 map sensor.

Oil pan, pick up tube and oil filter adapter, rear exhaust manifold (if using them)
Then sit the motors side by side and flop over anything on yours that looks different. Like the dog brackets and tensioner etc. AC bracket might be different as well.
