Engine swap question

I have a 08 GXP with a blown motor. Do I need to put a 07 - 08 motor in there or can I put the previous years in as well?
 


If you swap to a lower year, you'll also need to swap the engine wiring harness. The harnesses are different in ever year of the GXP. Otherwise, you should have no issues.
 
No you must use engine with same color crank sensor, 08 will be 58x crank sensor and 4 X cam older engines 05/06 ran 24x crank and 1x cam
