engine swap 00 GP

the engine in a 2000 GP SE i have is bad (bad intake gaskets) its got 175k on it so i am just going to put a lower miles one (93k from a 02)

my question is how hard is it to swap out a 3100, i looked but couldn't find anything, is there a how to?

If I remember right it can't be done without changing the trans, all the wiring/ pcm etc...

You'd be better off putting another 3100 in it, and selling it then getting a 3800 car...

when i owned my 99 se, it was a 3.1L, i looked into getting a 3.8L... WAY WAY not worth the cost, need to replace almost everything to make it work

wait guys, i have a gtp and my cousin is looking at getting one too,
i am swamping out for another 3100, the reason i am not just doing the gaskets is because the gaskets have been bad since last winter and i fear that there wold be more extensive damage like head gaskets also i think it will be easier to sell a high mileage car with a low mileage engine also i just feel like doing an engine swap lol

the plan is to fix up the car and sell it so my cousin can get a 04 gp gtp because he fell in love with mine

On my 3.1 the engine was good tranny was not lol
Just swap the gaskets make it run nice and so a as is sell.

the head-gaskets up where done 30k miles ago, something has caused the intake gaskets to go bad again, the upper intake is cracked and is jb welded together (dumb ass back yard mechanic) the front valve cover has a nasty leak, the exhaust spills out a ton of black smoke upon acceleration and lastly the engine has developed a knock of sorts... the engine is tired it would be cheaper to replace the engine then to replace all the little things wrong with it

also i swap engines often i have found to most people it is a big bonus to have a low mile engine in a car... thus i will be able to list it for a higher price and make a little more money

You just stated bad intake gaskets not that the engine was fvcked in da a. Yeah just go a swap it out and part out some stuff off your old engine.
