engine sputters under acceleration...

so i just replaced the lim gaskets, s/c gasket and all that other good stuff. put everything back together and the car starts and idles perfectly. but when i accelerate or give it some throttle the engine sputters real bad. almost like a missfire. i changed the plugs and still did not solve the problem. its not throwing any codes either. any help or insight would be great. thanks.
 


just tried that (unplugging the MAF) no dice. car wouldnt even accelerate with it unplugged. wanted to die
 
did you unplug it while the car was on or off? if you unpluged it while it was running , unplug it while its off, then start it.
 
hate to even ask but your sure the wires are on the right plugs and coils?

lol yea they are all correct. that was the first thing i checked. but even if they were wrong. would the car still idle perfectly. because it idles fine only acts up under acceleration or if i give it some throttle
 
a few of the cylinders fire so close to each other it could misfire one way or the other, just a thought, cant hurt to cover all bases.

could be a vac leak, try spraying starting fluid or carb and choke cleaner around the engine and listen for the rpms to jump.

have you been driving it at all or just trying to get the problem solved? as driving it around for a few short trips may get the cel to pop on, then you'll have a better idea where to look.

did the cel come on when you pulled the maf plug? and then go back out after you reconnected it?
 
got it figured out, i changed the wires out with some new ones and the problem is gone. must have had a bad wire or some thing. anyways. seems to be doing good now. thanks for your help though scotty
