engine not firing after UIM and LIM gasket replacement

I just got done replacing the upper and lower intake gaskets, upper plenum, thermostate, and valve cover gaskets after the engine was hydrolocked. Got everything put back together, put new oil in, and went to start the car and it is not firing. It turns over, acts like it wants to start, but still no fire. Everything worked just fine before. I replaced the spark plugs a couple months ago, so i made sure they were clean before putting back in, i have fuel pressure. the spark plug wires are in the correct order on the cylinders as well.....any ideas on why its not firing. Its turning over quick with good power from the battery.

Make sure you put the ground behind the coil pack bracket. Without the ground the car wont fire.

Likley not. Are you getting spark? If not I would think it would have to be a ground issue. Test that and let us know.

Thanks...ill check them tomorrow...its about 10 degrees in michigan right now, so im callin it a night...ill have an update tomorrow night though!

well i got bored later on this evening, so i went out and played with the car alittle bit. i actually got it to start for about 2 sec and then it shut off. i pulled the fuel pump relay and cranked it for alittle bit, and then i put the relay back in and it started for like 2 sec and shut off...acting like it wasn't getting enough gas to keep it going...any ideas from this?

Did you check for vacume leaks from hoses not being put back on? You need to make sure it is getting spark. Then go from there.

You need three things to run

Compression fuel and spark

well i got home and pulled all my spark plugs and they were covered in oil and gas, cleaned them off and the car started right up...for about 5 sec and then stalled again...what kind of leak do i have...

cleaned spark plugs again...car started right up and is running good! used a lighter to burn off all the other deposits on the spark plug. i ran the engine for about 30 min and changed the oil again to help with getting rid of some the the extra coolant. will change again prob in about 500 miles. any other ideas to help make sure all the coolant is out and gone...thanks for all your help TDCRacing

No problem man. Glad you got it fixed and running again.I would just check the oil to make sure it is not milky

I checked it out after i replaced it after running it for about a half an hour, i also used some cleaner a mechanic gave to me during that period. Oil looked good, but i will be checkin it again in a few hundred miles and hopefully everything looks good there!
