hey guys, i've been hearing a clicking noise when im driving my car sounds like a clicking noise coming from the rear of the engine any ideas? car seems to be running fine... its an 07 grand prix base... normally hear it under low loads around 2k rpms to 3k rpms. vehicles at 41k miles.
 


i just want to clearify that i couldn't find any leak as to date in the exhaust. The sound i am hearing sounds like when we were kids and put a card on our rear wheel to make it sound cool. its a "medium pace bike ride" noise sounding more of a tick if it makes sence. tried getting it on sound but can't hear it :(
 
nope not at all. In a few weeks im doing headers so hopefully it takes care of the problem. If it isn't that seeing its at the rear of the engine compartment least it sounds i'll have to take it in to the stealership.
 


I had the same noise in mine. Turned out to be part throttle knock from the egr. Deleted egr and no more ticks. Try to just unplug the egr and see if it goes away. You'll prob get a cel but it should clear itself up after plugging the egr back in.
 
does it speed up and slow down with the speed of the car regardless of engine rpm? could it be that at higher speeds its happening so fast that you just can't hear it? If that's the case, let me know what fixes it cause that's whats happening to mine.
