Engine Missing coil pack 1 and 4

I decided to try get my car going. 2008 Pontiac grand prix 3.8 Liter. It was sitting for about 18 months. When we started it, it was obviously missing. Investigating further we found there was no spark on #1 an #4 cylinder. Bottom coil pack. After removing the coil pack I noticed it had a crack in it. So I purchased a new one. We put it on and still the same thing, no spark coming from the coil pack 1,4. I don't think the new coil pack could be bad too. Anybody have any ideas.

I third this. My 00 GT did this when a coil cracked. Fried the ICM and left me stranded on the side of the highway. Changed the ICM and offending coil pack and it fired right up.

yep she was the icm, looked at a couple parts stores they each wanted $369 for that part, then we decided to check the auto wreckers $15 and she runs like a top.

My car just did the same thing. The 1 and 4 coil pack was cracked replaced it and still the same problem. You got your ICM from wreckers. I was hoping that the ICM was the problem and it was not something else. Is there a how to write up on replacing the ICM or is it pretty straight forward.

Yep, it's real basic. Take off all the coil pack's, the one Bolt holding on ICM cable and she comes right off
