I have a 01 GTP i bought last week. i was wondering if anyone knows whats goin on with my dash's engine management gauge? it doesnt illuminate. i know it probablyy has something to do wit my obdII because it also doesnt work. i tried to get an emission and they said it didnt work. please help. i have about 25 days to get my plates.

Check all of you're fuses and let us know how that goes. Are you refering to you're DIC?

The Obd port runs off the Cigarrette lighter/Accessory outlet fuse, check that one.... if the fuse is fine, you may have a harness issue

The fuse you're looking for will be in the fuse panel next to the glove box. It'll be labeled "lighter" or "cigar" or something similar. I believe it is a 10-15 amp fuse. Usually if the OBDII port doesn't function, that fuse is blown. Also, on many vehicles (I'm not 100% sure on our cars), when that fuse blows, it can cause the CEL to come on.

The DIC not lighting up is usually due to the bulbs behind the display being burned up. It's fairly common on our cars.

i checked the cigarette lighter fuse, n it was ok. damn! but i have yet to check al of them because its sooooo freakin cold.lol what is the CEL?

Ok, the fuses r ok. I notice on a bright day when the sun was at its high. The sun rays beamed brightly on the dash. I noticed that every thing is still working, i can see all the numbers moving, the boost gauge increasing. But why wont it illuminate? Everything else on the dash illuminaates perfectly. Is it a fuse just for the hud illumination?

I don't know of any how-to's on it. You'll have to remove the colored trim piece that goes in front of it (It should pop out) to access the DIC.
