Engine knock???

I think I have a horrible problem! I trying to think positive but my car sounds horrible. I took my car on a hour and a half trip this morning and it ran great all the easy there and about half way back. On my way home my car seemed to lose compression and the engine started ticking or knocking just all of a sudden. I checked the oil and it was about a quart low so I put a quart in but this didn't change anything. I did notice a leak at the oil send unit but I don't think it should cause all of this. I don't think the oil is being circulated though but I'm not a mechanic so I'm not certain. Have any of you had this issue or have any ideas? If it was something really serious would it just start all of a sudden?
 


So oil send unit will cause low oil pressure and cause the motor to knock? I hear it's very uncommon for oil pumps to go out, is that true?
 
Oh yea, I've been getting this question a lot on here about the headers. 4:2:1 headers = 4 pipes run into 2 pipes which run into one pipe. They are for more low end power versus 4:1 headers which are for mid-top range power.
 
you have a six cylinder.

the rear primaries end at the same point as the crossover does if you bought aftermarket headers.

In other words....... you have 3:2:1 or 3:1 headers........... thats it.

As soon as I get my car home I can take some. As I said I'm not a mechanic and all work done to my car is done at a shop. So thanks for the correction.
 
so in summary:

need video with decent quality audio to tell you whats going on with the engine.

4.2.1 headers are for inline fours.

gold edition is ballin.
 


So Monday if it's determined that my engine is bad will a engine from a GTP drop straight in with no additional modding? I know they are basically the same engines the GTP is just supercharged but I know in some swaps additional modding has to be done. Also will a series I 3800 work?
 
Well guys I was out messing with my car today and I got a new symptom that will probably be very specific. As you know I got the engine knock last week, well today I had it running seeing if I could locate the knock. While I had it sitting at idle speed all of the oil leaked out very fast. I'm thinking maybe something could've knocked a hole in the oil pan?

ok dude, that is not good lol. chances are, the knock was a bad rod, from there being low oil preasure. then the rod broke and got thrown through the oil pan. can you actually see a hole?
