Engine display help????

Hey guys I have a 06 Grand Prix...130,000 miles on her. I have had this happened 2 times in the past 2 weeks! I will be driving along at 70..to 80..mph and the display on the dash that displays the mileage....will flash a message that says reduced engine power.... Acceleration stops...drops to nothing and the car runs like crap!..... What does this message mean?????.....what needs to be fixed?????

get the car scanned, at a parts store, its free. the code will tell you whats wrong. could be a maf. had the same problem in my last truck.
