I have a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix 3.8 six cyl
190,000 miles
Thr problemis it will die, sometimes? It will restart vey easy, it does not stutter or misfire, just dies. It does this after driving maybe 3 miles. It will always restart, very easy. any sugs

Keep an eye on the tach. If it drops to zero while its still running/right before it dies then I would say crankshaft position sensor. And no, they do not usually throw a CEL.

Other than that could be a failing ignition control module (the metal plate that your coil packs mount onto).

went through similar with my '08 except it would die randomly when coasting to a stop or at a stop. little more to the story ( where i ended up with crank but no start) but replaced a cracked coil and ICM and problem disappeared.
