Engine Cranks but Will not Start

Just recently got a 1998 Grand Prix SE from a family member. It was given to me as it quit running on them and they did not want to spend the time or money to repair!!! They gave it to me as they know I like to tinker with autos and other equipment :)

Ran across this site and saw some very interesting posts! I thought this would
be a great place to look for information. Have recently worked on the car and
found the following:

> Engine is a 3.8 naturally aspirated
> Engine would crank but would not start
> Could not hear fuel pump starting
> Checked for fuel pressure on the fuel rail and had none
> Had good spark from coil and from wires
> Changed plugs
> Replaced fuel pump
> Removed injectors; cleaned and replaced "O-Rings"
> Can hear fuel pump now and have fuel pressure at fuel rail
> Engine turns over but still will not start

Now I am wondering if I have a bad crank sensor or something or possibly
a timing problem!!!!!

Good to be a part of this forum and look forward to chatting some.

Could be a CKP problem as well. Look at the scan tool while cranking to make sure you have a CMP signal as well as a CMP signal. You find that by looking at the RPM pid and the CMP Yes/No. Should be "Yes" obviously.
