ok people im currently into a 3800 build this is what im thinking so far please chime in or suggest anything......but meth, alcohol, and e85 are out of the question

starting with a l26

gen v and lim both ported
l67 heads rebuilt w #130 valve spring, port and polished
zzp xp cam or intense x1 with rockers
comp oe-r lifters
double roller timing chain
headers
would run a 3.4 pulley
180 t stat
down pipe
catback exhaust

later down the road
full ic
42lb injectors
using 3.0-2.8 puller

once fully done hoping for close to 450 CHP

again im open to all suggestions and or comments im looking to have a mean machine yet stil can be a daily driver

Dude if u are doing all that work and running a double roller timing chain I would go with the XPz cam... Just .02.

Any cam with higher rate valve springs should run a double roller.....I've seen a few single chains and dampener on after market springs....its not pretty. He would be out of his fuking mind to run 130 springs on a single chain. Plus he probably wants the drive ability of the XP

OP, build looks really good man! With that setup u would b okay to start with about a 3.25 pulley, imo

Sent using my bionic thumbs from my sweet DROID Razr Maxx

A 3.4 setup with an xp cam is good for roughly 300-320 whp... So FFDP is prolly right, u will most likely be high 300's. But I agree with cop, you could start out with a smaller pulley if u are running a cam. But remember to scan.

Good luck with that l26 bottom end. And it's higher compression as well. He can stay with a 3.4. Hell I would leave to a 3.8 until he goes intercooled then drop the pulley.

Pretty sure Ive seen many times now its the L26 rod bolts that fail not the actual rods failing. Go buy some ARP ones. I believe there is a thread on GPONA.com about this if its not here somewhere also.

i feel like you're gonna run your injectors static quick. and the headers will usually replace the downpipe portion of the exhaust, as well as the cat, so keep that in mind when you buy. be ready to put a bigger pulley on that too, the genV is a lot more efficient and you're still on a high compression block. a modular pulley hub makes life easy. other than that, looks like a solid build and i wish you the best of luck

L26's throw rods sometimes, but this is primarily with Turbo or xpz 6600 ron shift point builds. Nothing to worry about with your goals.

An XP/s1x setup on a 3.4 is not gonna make 320whp. You might get near 300, but even with high compression and a Gen V, I doubt it.

Ditch the double roller and the 130# springs. Get cheap 90# springs. They will make more power, and wont tear sh1t up in your valvetrain. Ls6 springs can take you to 6500rpm without any issues. And there's no need to shift higher with an XP, s1x. Put the saved money towards those 42# injectors and a tune.

take the turbo build route and get your big numbers. To get 450 CHP off a SC will be one hell of a build. you want those big numbers, go turbo

^Agreed. Go Turbo. Granted, there are m90 bulids in the 10's. But its rare and triple the effort.
I'm hoping to see11's soon but I'm not expecting it. After this, I'm gonna have to get realty creative

gotta pay to play. you want 400-450 CHP? you go turbo and build your own turbo kit and get a built transmission. itll cost more in the long run to get that much power out of a supercharged car.
