So in the process of rebuilding my entire engine bay, I made the mistake of just tossing everything into a pile.
Upon reassembly, I smashed my head into the wall over and over trying to find the right replacements.
(thanks GM for making the 3800 a hybrid of metrics and standards)
I could not find this type of listing ANYWHERE online, only the torque specs for each bolt.
So I have begun compiling spreadsheets for the next guy.
Your input is requested at this point. I want to itemize every single fastener under the hood. (unless something like this already exists?
I will keep this post updated with all information until we as a community have decided it is complete.
Please, only submit EXACT measurements. Don't guesstimate what you think the gauge, length, thread, or type is.
Please submit your info in the following format.
Application. Measurements. Fastener Type (Bolt, Stud, etc.). #Required. Suggested Compound, Torque.
Example.
Lower Intake Manifold. 5/16" x 1 1/4". Flange Bolt. Required: 12. Thread Sealer. 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.)
Obviously this will be cleaner on a final document. Any suggestions are welcome.
